"Vinta"

The stable clay has become silver brown

as weeds and trees have left their stead and rest

the shine is sun or day reflecting 'round

and splintered like a woman's cankered breast

or starve and death,

of what once was his love for family

- humbled by winds above.

By this celestial being's heartless force

to see a mother hold her lifeless child

on what are remnants of their dreams

and course,

abused by storm and wind,

debased, defiled.

Let scholarly, or bitter sense,

impart forgiveness,

mercy to life's travellers

a call to lend a hand, and to take heart

for we are one till death and

crueler than all the wars,

diseases of this race,

this is than being spat on in the face.

This poem was written and given to me by kuya @bennydelacruz after sending him @adevaesparrago's latest post from Cagayan de Oro (CDO) this morning. He is a volunteer right now in the DSWD's effort in packaging relief goods to CDO in Manila.

Efforts are ongoing to raise funds and cover the basics as we have daily updates from @adevaesparrago and her group. The Steemit Philippines Family appreciates all the help given to us and thank you for the TRUST, may we continue to deliver.
