As planned before this Music & Arts project started this April, Marlon aka @flabbergast-art will be sending our @walkofhope group his stories and pictures for us to promote and update his and Tatay Dagsa's walk tour escapades. And since arriving in Negros Oriental, Marlon have never failed to deliver.
Tonight, he've sent us a lot of photos, but only that with his performance this evening, there's none of himself. But rest assured that he did perform, and that nobody was able to take his. Well, he had loads previously, and am sure there will be more with his future ones.
Tonight in pictures
With a couple of @flabbergast-art's instruments in the background.
Perhaps I can include some of his gig's performance the week before? I posted of his gig on the 7th, but missed his gig the night before.
Let me show you some.
As the first gig of the tour, Marlon performed a local ritual usually done before a ceremony, a tradition being done in the highlands of Northern Philippines. As I can recall, this also involve a lighted incense throughout the ceremony.
Nothing could make him happier than letting his audience play with his instruments. With that, him and his team in Bayawan City did a marathon of creating more bamboo instruments the day before for a group of kids who participated in the event.
Did i forget to mention that these extra instruments were given away to some kids the following day after his and Tatay Dagsa's gig on the 7th?
More updates
Arts' workshop was commenced last friday and will continue till the Dagit Festival to be held in Dumaguete City on the 18th, plus the Panaad Festival that's ongoing in Bacolod City. Marlon and the kids are at their best to produce their best crafts to be shown in these events.
Bamboo innovations are being produced right now folks!
Here are some:
Am not sure if this is supposed to be a shark?
For males... if anyone fancies that?
The renovated mugs.
These cost 2USD a piece...less than 1 steem if bought from Bayawan City. They are quite sturdy so I requested a longer body to be used when having "halo-halo", a favorite dessert during summer by Filipinos. Living abroad, the longer ones can also be used in pubs.
Beer in a bamboo mug, anyone?
For anyone who wants to taste some coconut cider...the people from Bayawan produce them. Organically-made.
Now, this is not like the ordinary bamboo chair.
If the people in Bayawan make bikes made of bamboo, expect the same type with this one. Although it is narrow, it can withstand some heavy-weight as a lot of thought were put into it by our our @flabbergast.art.
I don't expect anything less.
Bamboo Planting on the 24-25th in Bayawan
As the 1st project of this tour, these dates have been confirmed to happen on these days, followed by going to Bacolod City to kick-start the tour.
Although these are the dates on schedule, they can change anytime and according to the local government of Bayawan.
