Who Married Nigeria?

Who Married Nigeria?

Story story story! Story! Nigeria is a very beautiful woman who started dating 3 men since 1914. Her father, Lord Lugard and his girlfriend, Flora Shaw (because her mother refused to marry her father)blessed her with a bottle of dry gin imported from England.
The fashion designer of her wedding dress was Taiwo Akinkummi. The young man was said to have very exotic eyes for good clothing. 'Since you have green landscapes and still a maiden, the colour of the day is green and white!'
Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, who had been working hard to ensure this marriage, was made chairman of the day while Tafawa Balewa donated money. The wedding, in other terms, was lit. Splashed over newspapers, it was the talk of the town and countries of the world. Although, the Queen was annoyed that her granddaughter was getting married, she still let her go and she signed her marriage certificate as a sponsor.
Shortly after her marriage, her husband became violent, changing hands on her smooth skin, destroying her mind. Even while she was recuperating, her husband started fighting with her relatives. He killed Tafawa and Nnamdi had to run for his dear life. She couldn't go to Lugard because he and his girlfriend had relocated to England. These attacks continued with a brief peace in the 80s. It continued again until some liberal neighbours felt she had suffered enough and decided to rescue her.
They got her a new house- faraway from her abusive husband.
They gave her different meals and took her to different parties. They even fought for her attention. Being a beautiful woman, her greedy neighbours cum friends, started using her for money making. They enriched their pockets and promised her the air and flying pigs.
Now, that she is lonely, friends of her abusive husband are becoming friends with her 'wonderful' neighbours. She has nowhere to run. Her umbrella is torn, she is drenched by the rain of unknown rainmakers. The broom swept away all her properties and her chicken has only one chick which can't make a poultry.
Her abusive husband? He was shot but he has resurrected from the dead to hunt her again... Who will save her? Who is her husband?
I believe this is what Nigeria's political story looks like: a fairytale of unseen possibilities. Nobody should remind me that we are the leaders of tomorrow when the tragedies and prank-masters of yesterday are still controlling today. With a heart full of regret, somebody should borrow me visa! I want to go on excursion. I'll come back when Nigeria gets better. I promise.
