Back again with some more Steem Monsters content! This design was screaming to be animated, and I had a lot of fun doing that. Watch the full animation below and let me know what you think in the comments below!
If you haven't seen my original post of the logo redesign, you can find it here. To clarify, this is not an official redesign of the Steem Monsters logo. They started their own rebranding intiative and you can check out the new logo here.
Sound effects by @louie-jr
To begin with this animation, I had to first take a few steps backwards. I originally created most of the elements as large single pieces. For instance, the stone wall was initially built as a single element. In order to achieve the effect of each stone rebuilding and meeting in the center, I essentially had to rebuild each stone from scratch so I could animate each one separately.
Animating something like this is very much a backwards process. You know what the final look of the logo needs to be, but you have to figure out where everything comes from and where it goes afterwards. The fun part comes once all of the key animation points are blocked out and you can watch everything come together.
This entire piece was brought to life by my friend @louie-jr, who took care of all of the sound effects that you hear. It adds a whole other layer of dimension that otherwise would have not been there, so big thanks to him.
