Obesity as we know is a medical condition in which there's increase number of fatty cells in the body which leads to an increase in BMI(body mass index). So many factors are attributed to the formation of obesity. Today I will just talk about the role of sleep.
Sleep is known as a state of unconsciousness in which a person can be arousal by either environmental or internal stimulus. It is vital to the body in terms of development,rest and reinvigoration of the body for proper functionality. Adequate sleep duration is 6 to 8 hours in a day.
Sleeping lesser or more can be incriminated in the causation of obesity. Less than 6hours of sleep leads to increase secretion of ghrelin and letting which stimulates hunger and increases appetite to eat which is one of the main cause of obesity. Again more than 8 hours of sleep leads to less time for physical activities which further predisposes to sleep.

Stay sharp
Sleep adequately
Maintain healthy BMI
