Craft is the designing and making of objects with our hands. Craft is a profession that requires some particular kind of skill. The word "Craft work" is usually applied to people that are involved in small scale production of goods.
These are lists of some craftworks around us;
- Woodcarving
This is the art of cutting and shaping wood to make decorative objects. This is commonly practised among the Benin and Edo people in Nigeria. Hard wood are used when carving any object. Examples are Ebony,Mahogany.
- Basket weaving
This is the art of making baskets by joining two or more raffia together. Basket is a container made of woven strips of material,often with handles. Raffia are gotten from palm tree in the form of flexible straw.
- Mat weaving
This involves the use of raffia just like basket weaving. It is use to make mat.
- Shoe making

Thie involves the use of leather to make foot wears.
- Pottery
This is the art of making earthenware. It uses clay to make pots,jugs,bowls etc.
- Stenciling
This is the use of making mark or print with a stencil,the print could be in paper,wall,cars,road and so on.
- Bag making**
This is an art of using leather to make bags,purse and so on
Other types of craftwork include;
Clothes weaving
Hand embroidery
Metal work.
