Perks of being an engineer

As James A Michener said, " Scientist dream about great things, Engineers do them". Engineers are generally perceived to be doers. Using every bit of science applicable, they try to make the world a better place. Though every profession has a different perspective of seeing the world, engineers are quite unique on their way of seeing things.

Being an engineering student myself, I have seen a lot of changes to the questions that hover in my head, the way I explain things and in general my mentality. First of all, engineer always questions; we tend to find why a particular thing is, what it is? This curiosity helps to question the trend and bring change to the world. When people see a skyscraper, they admire its monumental size, but an engineer thinks about how did they counteract the wind pressure? This question leads to reasoning.
Engineers never debate on topics. In a debate, you tend to prove your point. Engineers have discussion where they analyse the best answer, so engineers are more dynamic and flexible to change. Engineers love discussion because its the fastest way to learn. An engineer develops habit of reasoning and it gives them pleasure to find reasons on things around them, that inner craving of reasoning pushes them even further to broaden their knowledge and acknowledge the world through logic and reasoning.

Do you also feel quite so? You must think about being an engineer. But caution: It will change you forever but in a good way.
