(17). Make Your Child a Flexible Person

Every member of society is unique in appearance and in character too. Some characters are nimbler in nature than others. If applied correctly, this is a leadership trait that enables one to make the right decisions, without waiting for others to direct or influence them. A good quality to have when in emergency situations or when you need to solve problems fast.

To encourage this trait in children, parents and teachers need to be flexible themselves, so that they can adapt to work with different personalities in different situations.

To educate and encourage a child to develop a certain amount of flexibility, parents and teachers need to allow their children to be placed in positions where this trait is required. Lessons can be adapted to allow students to practices problem solving in situations that our slightly out of their comfort zones. He or she also needs to be surrounded by different personalities, and be taught to appreciate and cooperate with these personalities.

When parents and teachers manage to successfully cultivate a flexible nature in the child, they will notice the attitude of the child will change. He or she will have more confidence, independence and self-satisfaction when completing a task.

This change in character will also improve a child’s social skills. He or she will be more likely to get along with peers, make new friends and cooperate in group learning activities. Self-esteem will be at an all-time high, which will not only reflect in school work, but daily tasks and chores too.

Flexibility means freedom. Through this freedom we allow our children to develop opinions and respect other opinions. We give him the opportunity to make informed decisions and efficient solutions.
