A very exciting moment happened for my Twitch stream the other day when a special little Amazon package arrived on my door step. My capture card arrived!
(Stock photo being used as mine is black on a black desk with black cords, you wouldn't see anything)
I purchased for myself an El Gato HD 60 capture card so I can begin streaming from consoles instead of strictly PC. So far I have only utilized it for my Ninetendo Switch for Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Disgaea 5: Complete. Let's talk about the card.
The El Gato HD 60 is dollar for dollar one of the best cards on the market right now. Now there are 2 versions, which I learned the hard way. There is an external version, which I have, that works great. The only downside is if you are listening to the audio from your computer it will have about a 1 second delay. Now what I did was plugged in my Headset and threw it across the room. My second monitor where the game is actually being played is a television, so I turned up the volume for once. I then set my noise suppression and set up a noise gate for better mic sounds without background noise. And I don't have to wear a headset so I can get some ear relief for once. Although it does feel weird not wearing a headset while streaming, it is very freeing though.
The second type of card is one you secure to the desktop itself and you get no delay (from what I'm told). Which is the one I meant to buy but I was tired when I ordered.
Im actually happy with my mistake though. The footage is still top notch, I don't have to wear a headset, and I am finally streaming from a console! Hooray!
So I am converting the Steem dollars into US dollars through a process (with help from @jdc) that basically reimburses me the full price of my capture. So thank you all so much for all your support! I typically would buy Steem power but I really wanted a physical product from Steemit just to see the process. And I couldn't be more pleased.
