So Facebook's hanging out with Blockchain now, huh?

Introduction

Hi Steemians. Hope you heard the news by now. If you haven't, then please read this post with care, cuz I know it's gonna be of interest to you.

We all know that Facebook is under pressure because of the recent Cambridge Analytica scandal, and the rising security concerns. There have been some changes made to the platform too. But now, Facebook is thinking different. (Maybe way too big).

After the post of David Marcus, on May 8, it's pretty clear that Facebook is gonna introduce Blockchain based technology in near future. What might Facebook do next???

What's Facebook planning to do with their new initiative? I do think that facebook plans to do something like -

1. Dominating Blockchain

It's true that Blockchain can't be owned by anyone. But that doesn't mean that you can't lead the technology to the next level. Facebook is clearly dominating the Social Networking platform, maybe now they want to dominate the blockchain world too.

2. Incentivize User Interaction

We can't say anything for sure, but I personally think that Facebook will try to introduce a new kind of Cryptocurrency. With that Cryptocurrency, they'll incentivize the user interaction on Facebook. Or maybe they will do something similar to Steemit. Who knows. But a new cryptocurrency from such a tech giant would surely rule the Crypto market.

3. Copy / Buy Steemit

Oh yes, you read that right. We have seen Facebook do this quite a lot, haven't we?

It's still too early to tell what Facebook's gonna do after they are done experimenting with blockchain. It won't come as a shock to us if we see Facebook doing it. After all, we have seen Facebook copying numerous features from various social networking platforms, haven't we? Take the case of Snapchat for example. With its new initiatives, who knows, maybe Facebook will try to copy Steemit too. What if, when they can't copy Steemit, they want to buy Steemit? Didn't they buy WhatsApp? What do you think, will Facebook try to buy Steemit? I don't know about you, but I do think that Facebook's gonna attempt something similar to Steemit.

Conclusion

We can't really tell what Facebook's planning to do next. What we can tell is that they are gonna try something new. And depending on their actions, it may or may not affect the Steemit community.

Remember, I told you guys in my first introduction post that I've been diving deeper into blockchain development lately. Since I'm reading more and more news on Blockchain these days, it's no wonder to me that the giant tech companies will soon start doing something about it.
