WHAT STEEMIT MEANS TO DIFFERENT PEOPLE

Lots of Steemians have been asked this question;

"What does Steemit mean to you?"

Some people tend to answer this question subjectively. In cases like this, you may hear them go as far as saying "Steemit is my life" and the likes of this, although in truth, they joined Steemit for just one reason... I'm quite sure we know what this reason is.

Lots of people joined Steemit with one motive - TO MAKE THE MONEY! Although, we know at some point majority of steembees (members of kingbee) did this too because it was so amazing, discovering a platform where you could write and make money. With this in view, people began their journey on Steemit. Along the way, most persons got hooked up and discovered that they can't do without it, just as we get hooked to other social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram etc. While some persons, just like the parable of the sower, grew weary and left because the reason why they joined was not being achieved... I know most persons understand how difficult and frustrating it is for a newbie to find footing on Steemit.

Now back to the original question of what Steemit means.

Steemit means a lot of things to a lot of people. From the general perspective, Steemit is a community that connects people from all corners of the world; Blacks, Whites, Asians, rich, poor, photographers, poets, writers etc.
It is a platform that rewards based on the contents of your work and frowns on plagiarism and nepotism.

Steemit comes with a lot of benefits;
The ability for persons to earn via the platform has helped in the alleviation of poverty. Using a scenario of the average Nigerian graduate, who leaves school with nothing to do and no means of income to fend for him/herself. Steemit has given such a person a perfect opportunity to showcase what he/she can do, when the government and even the society at large seems to have nothing to offer. And the beautiful thing about it is that making money on Steemit is as legal as it can be...
With the provision of financial security for people, the poverty rate has decreased and this has inadvertently reduced crime rate.
As we all know, the highest cause of crime in the society poverty.. Steemit has therefore helped in taking young jobless persons off the street and has given them an out to help themselves. Why bother risking your life getting involved in criminal activities when you can use your intellect and make money rightly?

Asides from the financial benefits that comes with Steemit, Steemit has provided a beautiful environment to learn new things. Based on the fact that Steemit rewards "quality content", persons strives to get better at what they do, to improve their skills. For those who write, they work harder to deliver a better written piece, those into photography also try to provide better photos.
Contests are continuously been organized where people can show their prowess in the areas where they feel fit. At the end of the day, you find that how you were when you first came aboard on the Steemit train have witnessed improvements and there have been a much needed adjustment in your life.

Steemit comprises of people from different parts of the world who have different ideas and different views, and it presents to one a perfect place to learn from intellectually sound people. Steemit is not restricted to one subject alone, issues concerning world politics, economy, etc are being dissected daily.

Projects after projects have been embarked on to make steemit more entertaining.

Steemit should not just been seen as a money making venture to you. It should have a deeper meaning to you because that would determine how far you'll go and how well you will fare.
