i love mesh networking. ..
but i'll be honest on this review even thou it's cool and the video is slick something does not quite ring true about this product (yet) -- it feels a little bit like someone saw the gotenna thing and then got a bunch of people together to build a similar unit to compete with it, i'm sure it's great but the video made it seem like the audience for this was just skiers, canyon hunters and people at concerts.
i do like the idea of the walkie talkie but i don't know if i want to use my mobile phone to do it, i mean if it's got a button the unit then it might be ok but what happens if my phone battery goes dead or i drop my phone down the slope or smash it in the cave, can you imagine being so gutted that you can't use either to call for help? -- oh but you already marked it on the map right? oh that's right the battery went dead.. . hmmm..
personally, i'd have a combination of garmin (track record) and the other guys i posted from the other day, gotenna.
