If you're not familiar with virtual currency, Amazon launches Amazon Coins to encourage Kindle Fire users to purchase more apps, games and in-app purchases.
"Amazon Coins come in denominations of 300 to 50,000 Amazon Coins. Bigger denominations always have bigger discounts. Savings on orders of 50,000 Coins are always greater than orders of 300 Coins."
Amazon Coin - is a digital payment method created by Amazon.com. Currently, coins can only be used to purchase software for Kindle, Kindle Fire, and Android devices from within the app or from Amazon Appstore.
FUNCTION AND VALUE
Amazon has called the Amazon Coins a "virtual currency". However, Coins operate like any other digital gift card.
One Amazon Coin is worth one cent. However, like many coupons, they can not be exchanged for cash. In addition, they can not be resold or transferred to another Amazon account.
Purchased coins are not out of date, but some Promotional coins end more than one year from date of purchase.
When a customer buys software with Amazon Coin, the developer is paid in a conventional currency.
