Upvote Bots: decrease in profitability means are we near to a change?

BOT.jpg

Hello steemit Friends,

I want to talk to you today about Upvote Bot and their evolution. The Upvote Bot User should be more aware of the consequences that an unbalanced use of its power and influence can have on the steemit community..
...And because Steemit community is a representation of a real community over the internet, the forces and the tendencies counterbalance each other to strike a new balance.

But let's step back for a moment and focus on genesis and evolution of Upvote Bots.

INTRO

Born in order to promote quality contents by using a concentration of delegated steem power, the use of Upvote Bots to make profit It was but a short step. In fact the creator of this Bots starts to pay to receive delegated steem power and they promise for a reasonable fee to upvote post of steemit user who want to pay for it.

Seems like it worked out pretty well for some time, but as i told before the forces and the tendencies counterbalance each other to strike a new balance.

CURRENT STATE

The market is saturated, those who used Upvote Bots have increased exponentially what was supposed to be a guaranteed profit turned in a bet: if you are lucky you could have a small profit, but the reality is that after 25% curation rewards almost always you loose a few per cent. Apart from a few exceptions, that's the overall picture.

You've probably try on your shoulders, but go to Steem bot Tracker to understand what I'm talking about. Thanks to author @yabapmatt.

SOME EXAMPLES

In this example, we can see how there's no profit in money invested in this bot.

Now, pay a lot of attention to this example:

In this case, not only aren't you making profit, you still loose money!!

You can take some time to make some test to understand what i'm talking about.. you'll understand lots of things about Upvote Bots.

Last-minute notice is that of the bigger Upvote Bots, @minnowbooster, announces adjustment to profitability scale.. that means they are significantly cutting profitability of this bot. You can read all about it HERE.

On the heels of @minnowbooster and counting on a huge STEEM POWER, also @blocktrades now offering Steem Power Delegations.. You can read all about it HERE.
Their intent should be a lofty aspiration, but the reality is a lot more complex.. They talk about original material that can be argued to have some meaningful content... we'll see.

MY CONCLUSION

My thoughts is that the use of Upvote Bots should serve as a sounding board for their own content and not as a tools to be able to take profit. The growth of Steemit Community is based on quality of contents and Upvote Bots should contribute to that.
Therefore, roll on the advent to this reduction of profit and for initiatives such as those that of @blocktrades (but also that of @minnowbooster).

I think that delegation will be used conscientiously, which is why I want you to mention also:

@donkeypong (https://steemit.com/delegateitforward/@donkeypong/donating-the-sbd-from-this-post-to-rent-some-sp-for-spaminator)

@steemvoter (https://steemit.com/steemvoter/@steemvoter/steemvoter-com-and-buildawhale-team-up-guilds-are-back)

@cryptoctopus (https://steemit.com/steemfest/@cryptoctopus/i-delegated-20-000-more-steempower-to-the-utopian-because-total-70-000)

i mean USER that invest their STEEM POWER for everyone's sake and not for an economic return.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post.
