On Wednesday, the last VCR that will ever be made rolled off the manufacturing line at Funai Electric. Thus, kicking off the best buying opportunity for VCRs ever!!!
Limited Supply
When investors realize that manufacturing of VCRs has stopped, Wall Street will see opportunity in their limited supply. VCRs will become traded on online exchanges and become a store of value. VCRs could one day liberate the un-banked, allowing them to take personal possession and responsibility of their wealth.
It could be the greatest redistribution of wealth the world has ever seen.
Continuous Demand
As demand will always increase for VCRs, their value can only go up. Add to this, the supply over time will experience a fallout effect of VCRs lost to damage, fire, and small children putting yogurt in the opening.
This expected rise in demand has yet to be priced into the market.
VCR Investment Outlook
There are risk to this rosey outcome though. Potential investors of VCR should take heed of the warning that was recently issued to Bitcoin by Fred Ehrsam, co-founder of Coinbase. (blog)
My theory has been that the scripting language in Bitcoin — the piece of every Bitcoin transaction that lets you run a little software program along with it — is too restrictive.
There is no guarantee that a new technology might come along that could replace the VCR. For example, there is a new upstart currency called STEEM that might be such a competitor.
Unlike a VCR which are energy hogs, Steem are rewarded based on the quality of user content, rewarding the best post as voted by the consensus. This coin has the capability of entertaining people, just as VCR can, but with greater outreach.
Steem could very well totally eliminate the need for a VCR.
