Hi everybody. It was our last morning in Sigiriya! After breakfast we started about 3 hours long bus trip to the city of Kandy in the middle of Srilanka, where we’ll be staying next two nights. It’s a city that was a capital of the ancient king’s era with its temple of tooth relic (Sri Dalada Msligawa) considering to be one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world.
During the journey we did few stops. First one was Dambula – a lower hillside with 5 Buddhist cave tamples containing a lot of Buddha’s statues inside! It’s fascinating.
Next stop was Heritage spices and herb garden in the city of Kawudupellela. Doctor of Ayurvedic medicine presented and explained us various types of spices and herbs throught the walking tour inside. All presented gave us very useful informations about selfcare and alternative treatment. Soon after, we had a lunch nearby. It seemed to be one of the most commercial one, till now. We liked it !;)
The last stop before reaching Candy was Baba Batiks studio where the leaders and his employees presented us the production of wax dresses step by step. They also producing and suplying the best branded clothes worldwide.
Finally we reached Kandy and immediately attended a forklore acrobating dance show displayed by the locals (Sanhils). It was so lovely, cordial and fun.
People are more or less poor here, but they are always happy and smiling. We apreciate it so much.
After one-hour long show, it was time for the last activity of that day - visit of the above mentiontioned temple, where the buda’s tooth is stored. It was so magnificul with lots of people participating buddhas casual ritual.
It was such a long, but amazing day, as usual.
At around 20 pm we’ve been accomodated in sophisticated hotel named Oak Ray Heritage Hotel.
