The situation at the Bernabeu is pathetic. It’s surprising that the president does not seem to have any concrete plan in place to replace the Galactico player they sold during the summer.
When Ronaldo was there, they were guaranteed at least fifty goals a season. With him gone however, there was always going to be a vacuum. Surprisingly, Perez did nothing about the issue and instead brought back Mariano – a player they haven’t even used much- and Vinicius who is only a teenager. There still is that space, a void that needs filling.
Perhaps, Perez had thought he could rely on Gareth Bale. However, the Welshman has shown, not for the first time that he cannot be relied upon. He is largely a ‘timely’ wonder, much like the blue moon concept. He only comes out, when he’s not injured; when you’d least expect it. Injuries and Bale are like 5 and 6. You cannot predict that Bale would score in a match but you can say he’ll be injured at least twice in a season. That’s not a good thing.
Fans are calling for the return of Morata or for Icardi. Whatever, Perez has to make the right decision this time.
