Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea is due to sign a new deal at the club in the coming days. De Gea's current deal expires in 2019 and the club are ready to go to any extent to keep the player.
De Gea kept 18 clean sheets for United in the Premier League last season. His amazing performances throughout the campaign saw him win the Golden Glove and a place in the PFA Team of the Season. He's unarguably United's best player.
I remember John Terry saying that Petr Cech would save Arsenal a good 12-15 points when he moved from Chelsea to Arsenal. De Gea is certainly a keeper that falls in the same category. One of those who would win you a good 15 points. And he has done that for United over the years.
De Gea was always wanted by Real Madrid. And eventually, he was going to move to Madrid in 2015. But unfortunately, the paperwork could not be completed in time and Madrid lost out on him. Now however, with Madrid completing the signing of Thibaut Courtois, De Gea is surely going to stay at Manchester United atleast for a couple more years.
