1 ) LeBron James Signs With Los Angeles Lakers
The league is better when big market teams are competitive (LA, NYC, Boston, Philly). How LeBron fits with Lonzo and the other young talent will be exciting to watch. I think Brandon Ingram has a chance to win most improved player this upcoming season playing alongside LBJ.
2)DeAndre Jordan Signs with Dallas Mavericks
DeAndre Jordan on the court with Dirk, Harrison Barnes, Dennis Smith Jr, etc is a great fit. I think the Mavs are going to be competitive next year. I see them getting a #8 or #7 seed and to go from a top 5 pick to a playoff team in the West is a huge step up, thus the DeAndre signing is #2.
3) Paul George Resigns with Thunder
I’m really surprised he stayed. Him and LBJ could have been great in LA. I don't understand this decision, enjoy being a #4/#5 seed in OKC during the prime years of your career Paul.
4) Trevor Ariza signs with Suns
This hurts the Rockets more than it helps the Suns. You can leave Ariza on an island with Kevin Durant and trust he will at least make it difficult. I think the Rockets chances of ever reaching the finals is gone. He was a key piece to that team.
5) Boogie Cousins sins with Warriors
Jordan Bell steps in to replace the role of Javale Magee (Defense, Hustle, Alley Oops) and Boogie Cousins steps in to replace the role of Zaza Pachouli (Post Up Bully Ball/ Elbow people in the face). Boogie is one of the most talented big men in the league and once he is back to full health come April, May, June it will be annoying to watch how dominant the Warriors are.
6) Chris Paul Resigns with Rockets
I don’t see the Rockets making the Western Conference Finals and because of that Chris Paul is last of the big name free agents and there importance to their respective franchise.
Honorable Mentions
*Rajoy Rondo & Lance Stephenson sign with the Lakers
These guys are competitive. Rondo is going to be a great mentor for Lonzo, they play the same way. High IQ basketball players.
*JJ Redick Resigns with 76ers
Redick played a key part in the Sixers' success last season. I think his leadership of the court is most important. With Marco Bellineli leaving it was very important to bring back at least one knock down 3 point shooter who can spread the floor for Simmons.
Worst Free Agent Signing
*Dwight Howard Center Washington Wizards
The Wizards have the worst locker room in the NBA. The best player on the team (John Wall) is not liked, It is not a secret that Bradley Beal and him do not get along. Last year when John Wall was out the whole team said they were better with out him, notably Marcin Gortat. So they replaced Gortat with another locker room cancer in Dwight Howard. You are adding one of the most selfish players in the NBA whose former teammates all hate him, to an already bad locker room culture. This is by far the dumbest signing I have ever seen. Who runs this Wizards team? They must have no understanding of how teammates being friends of the court affects them playing well together on the court.
Best Player Still Available
The Rockets better resign Clint Capella. If they let him get away they are going to drop to mediocre at best. I smell a #4 or #5 seed for this team. They are never going to repeat what they did last year.
