Rebellion Showtime!! (Part 6)

Death Splinter was previously known for its dominant melee and magic cards. And more to it there's several card with unique and niche utility. As of other Splinter, Death Splinter also consist of a total 14 cards, spread among Normal and Rare cards, with 2 cards on both Epic and Legendary rarity. And this editions also bring their uniqueness just as the previous editions.

THE SUMMONER

There are 2 (two) new summoner being cast into the collection. The first one is Dolfar Darflak, the dual elemental summoner which combines Fire and Death Splinter together. I could see great possibility for Death Splinter to provide balanced magic and ranged cards to the vast selection of melee cards of Fire Splinter. The second one is Reklah, with alternatives buff between a double health debuff or a double Reflection Shield. The -2 health debuff might have a minor effect considering its easily underpowered compared to Wekaen ability and other health debuff which affect entire formation. But Reflection Shield could be detrimental in a battle, since this ability could entirely protect a card being set in trap by counter ability.

MELEE CHARGER

A total of 4 (four) melee cards are introduced. Death Splinter introduce a quite number of Sneak cards, and the first one is Fenmoor Haunt. It is not the typical wrecker Sneak card since Fenmoor Haunt reached 3 damage at most, which peculiarly retract back to 2 damage in exchange for Scavenger. It seemed this card is more of Tanker card than Striker. Wailing Wraith is a mid-mana melee cards with a common Reach ability and the very rare Armored Strike. Among the cards with Armored Strike, Wailing Wraith so far have the lowest mana (only equalized by Skyspire Yak which also cost 4 mana). At 1 armor, Wailing Wraith already done better than most melee cards. Imagine the possibility of superior damage if this cards gained various armor buff.

Chaos Jailer is that very unique card once it reached Level 2. Mainly due to its Poison ability. Combined with Ambush, this card could guarantee a quick kill even before the 1st round started. That's because if you lucky enough to have Poison applied, the damage will be triggered instantly after the Ambush phase ended. Executioner Kraan has turned into my favorite Tanker alternate to Cursed Windeku. At Level 2, this card gained +1 growth on armor and health, putting this card in almost equal endurance to Cursed Windeku. And the 3 damage really put this card into a powerhouse.

RANGED ARTILLERY

A total of 3 (three) ranged cards are available. I consider New Sskah Drudge as the downgrade version of Dhampir Stalker with lower mana cost. Daigendark Hunter is the second Sneak card which might cost extra mana but pack extra damage output. Avarisdeus is rather a weak card at start. But having reached 2 damage (with Double Strike), 4 speed, and 6 health at max level; this card will turn into a robust ranged card.

MAGIC WATCHER

The magic cards are introduced on the higher rarity on this editions. The first one is Helheim Demon which is more of a Tanker than a Support or Striker type which is typical of a magic card. So far I consider Helheim Demon to be similar with Mycelic Slipspawn; except that this card have a rather inferior endurance even with the higher mana cost. Demise Archon Faust and Barashkukor are both damage dealer magic cards. A 2 magic damage for 5 mana is quite a bargain. Even card such as Goblin Psychic and Magi Of Chaos still cost 6 mana. Barashkukor with 13 mana cost is an extremely expensive card to deploy, which should only be use if there's used to be a spare mana cap or at 99 mana cap battle.

BYSTANDER

Death Splinter uniquely introduced 2 (two) non-attack cards instead of just 1 (one). While Ahna-Chei Botanist is an anti-ranged card (started with Return Fire ability and later gained Blind); Chaos Animator is more of all-rounder due to its Amplify ability. But more to it Chaos Animator will later gained Void which is very useful to fend off incoming magic attack.
