One of the most unexpected practices I discovered along my journey of personal and spiritual growth was sungazing.
My Sweetie and I began sungazing in November 2012, if you have no idea what that is, I encourage you to look into to it. Clearly, sungazing isn't for everyone but I would like to share with you some of the reasons we enjoy it.
For starters, we prefer to sungaze in the morning because everything just seems so much more peaceful at that time of day. This allows us to begin our day with a very high vibration and a positive state of mind.
It activates and increases the size of the pineal gland. Brain scans of longtime sungazers have shown a pineal gland that is up to three times the size of a normal human, but we can literally feel the pineal glad vibrating when we sungaze, it's a pretty cool experience.
A noticeable increase in energy levels that last throughout the day. Now, this I believe is a combination of the sungazing and the fact that we are also 'earthing' at the same time. So we are barefoot on the dirt or grass while sungazing.
Feeling more spiritually connected to All That Is. If you are involved in any type of religious or spiritual practice, you have no doubt seen paintings or images portraying 'Holy Beings' or 'Ascended Masters'. Have you noticed that they almost always have some type of glow around them? Often this is called a halo. Well, I believe that the more light within a being, the more light they radiate.
Think about that, what types of people are often referred to as 'glowing'? 😉
I know, most all of us have been told since we were very young, 'don't look at the sun, you'll go blind! Well, without getting into a big to-do about this, I will just say that the more I learn about enlightenment and what happens to us as we become higher evolved spiritual beings, the less I believe the things that were told to me by my parents, teachers, and even the media.
Have you ever observed animals? They ALWAYS look into the sun! Why? Because they rely on instinct, not what they're are told. Animals have instinct, we have intuition.
in·tu·i·tion
ˌint(y)o͞oˈiSH(ə)n/Submit
noun
the ability to understand something immediately, without the need for conscious reasoning
There are specific practices that I have done over the past decade to help me strengthen my intuition, and I rely on it for not only big decisions, but even for the seemingly simple minute by minute decisions. Why? I am so glad you asked!
Here's what I have come to know:
- My intuition is always trying to guide me to the life I desire.
- Things that I get a feeling about are things I should do, even if it doesn't make sense to me at the time.
- The more I listen to my intuition, the more great things seem to happen to me
- Sungazing has helped me strengthen my intuition.
So if you are looking for something to take yourself to the next level in your own personal growth, you may want to give sungazing a try. Begin by tuneing into your intuition and decide if you are 'Ready to Shine Like the Sun'. 🌞
For me and my 'Framily', sungazing and listening to our intuition is just another reason why we believe that Life is so easy.
