The Future

I haven't posted in a few days because I didn't "feel it." So what have I been doing with my Steemit time? Dumping tokens/coins, trading for Ethereum and Bitcoin with the proceeds, and researching.
I like to watch cultural evolution, it was always a hobby and part of my academic career. Researching it comes as second nature. This time around, I focused on social media. The trends are what I would expect:
Americans under 35 prefer direct message social media that disappears. This is understandable because they were taught what goes on the internet/blockchain lives on the internet forever. They do not want this - they want posts to have limited lifespans and limited audiences. Snapchat serves this purpose, as does Instagram Stories.
Privacy is important. They do not want everyone seeing what they post. They want control over who sees and comments on their posts/messages. Again, Snapchat and Instagram suit their needs best. The "free for all to see" social media platforms appeal more to Baby Boomers, which spells trouble for platforms like Steemit.
Americans under 35 prefer pictures and videos to written word social media. They are visually wired. This explains why YouTube and Instagram are their go-to social apps.
I think the 35 and younger crowd for it right. They are being wise in their choices, and hopefully won't be haunted by what they posts, and where.
More findings later....
