Productivity: Twitter posting bot ( spreadsheet schedule bot)

Last week I was working on the spreadsheet Twitter bot that can send a pre-scheduled tweet to my Twitter account.

There are easier ways to schedule your tweets, you can for example use the native web app and simply write your tweet to be sent at a certain time.

Then you can use Buffer or Hootsuite and also schedule the same, but you will end up with the app name being stamped under your tweet and each time when you post.

Also, a benefit of such an app is not only saving time but sparing money as many of these apps require a PRO account for "full" automation or more requests per day.

You can also use it to send links, sales links, referrals, affiliate codes... etc. So, it is a nice way to have all the links that you are working on within one single place. And you can also resend them from the same spreadsheet without needing to be rewritten.

IMPORTANT:
Twitter developer's apps have certain limits for the usage of the bots, and you will get 10 apps per developer account. Other limitations are reasonable and suitable for normal posting. You will need to apply for this account and log in with your Twitter.
Apps are checked, they do not allow spam.

I don't have a problem with posts being sent from those apps, but they fail to catch an RSS, or there is a limit to schedule post count.

Pipedream can do the same, but you will end up with some of the things not being sent because of the server glitch or Twitter app glitch, or you will again pass the limit of the default allowed tweets.

I made Hive RSS working in Pipedream to share posts from Hive blockchain which I vote on and my own posts when they are published.

So that one doesn't require pre-scheduling, just a working program in Pipedream.

This one from the spreadsheet requires you to either manually enter data that you wish to send, or somehow bound it with another script that will connect RSS, or something else and pre-populate your sheet.

EDIT:
I connected RSS pipe to a data spreadsheet to populate it with the newest posts from my favorite authors.
I have to manually input time /date when a status is going to be posted and additional hashtags or descriptions for better visibility.
This is also going to be used for my movie blog on dBlog which I am going to finish on working today, and tutorials and collections either from me or from others on Peakd.
I believe we also have some sort of a Wikipedia for Hive, if not I will reconsider writing or updating some of my old tutorials.

PREVIEW of the app:

This is what I wanted to do. I didn't want to advertise a certain blogging frontend, but the whole thing. That's why it is the main website.

I don't have a lot of tweets to send, but what I wanted to do includes a Hive blockchain name being included in an app, so I wanted to make that sort of a bot.

And I wanted to customize everything included in that Twitter bot. My account is only semi-automated, so I usually use it in a normal way, these things are made just to allow me to have more time.

But, I wanted my bot to reflect that my posts are connected to the Hive blockchain and being sent from a customized application.

So you won't longer have sent from Buffer or Hootsuite, you can create a developer app with the name Jane from Hive, and you will have that instead.

To me, it is a very nice way to state that I am a supporter of Hive right on a tweet.

The only issue is that this one is not an auto post directly from RSS into a tweet, like with a Pipe, so I have to write each tweet manually or repopulate it with another program.

For a start a manual is good. And anyone can do it.

How you can do it is very easy, and I will not post you an entire tutorial on how to do it, a link to all components you may need - if you want to make one - can be found in an article below.

Twitter Automation: Scheduled Tweets From Google Sheets • Helge Klein

An author made it for posting his movie list or movie blog posts, but it can be customized and made into anything. The script is working just fine, and you will be using your own Twitter developer account and Google spreadsheets.

If you have something else and know how to integrate it, the principle is the same. If you have some questions or/and interesting ideas, let me know in the comments.

EDIT:

I forgot to write this, and it is very important or your bot will not work. When you are making your app in Twitter developers, you need to set Auth on reading and writing, because if you don't your bot will print nothing.

Also when you change your app in Twitter developers in any way, you also have to regenerate both sets of keys and then paste the new values into the spreadsheet script.

Little note about the keys, one of them is called differently in developers, and in the script, API key is a consumer key.

It is not Tools > Script Editor, now you go to the Extensions > App Script in Spreadsheets.

There are some other things that I found different than in the original text, but I can't remember now. If you need assistance, ask.
