The Sound Train: A 1929 Graham Paige 837 Limousine.
This extremely rare vehicle was purchased in 1930 along with 12 others by the Publix Theater Group(Paramount Pictures) and converted to look like a locomotive by the McGhee Manufacturing company of Toledo Ohio. the 13 vehicles were assigned to territories in the United States where they were used as VIP cars for theater and movie openings. This particular car was the Los Angeles and Southern California car.
It was subsequently owned By Wibur Gerow in San Diego, and he used it in World War II to sell war bonds. Upon his death in 1991, My father purchased it and did a rather Lengthy restoration. Now that my father, Eugene Calman has passed, The car is going to my brother. The car is hard to drive as it's extra heavy, and extra long, but gets about 500 Smiles Per Gallon.
