We were moving out my late father's collection for an appraisal and I snapped a few pics for you all.
This was a basket case when Dad bought it f0r $5500.00 USD. It took 6 yeas to make it pretty. I was the senior rust remover and also helped with a lot of mechanical work. This is the Fleetwood Model 70 V8 which is very rare, as in 1936 the US was in the middle of a deep depression, and if you had the money for one of these, you bought the V12 or the V16... We only know of about 4 of these in existence at this time.
It is a fun car to drive, but takes about a half hour to take the top down or up. The V8 is a 348 Cubic inch Monoblock V8, and produces 135 BHP. Top speed is up there. Have [personally driven it at 75MPH. Stopping is scary as hell with mechanical brakes.
