Germans call marigolds student colors, and England they call "Marygold" - the gold of Mary. And in Ukraine they are called blackgrass - velvet. There is a tender touching Ukrainian folk song with this name. She will not leave anyone indifferent. This, though a folk song, is written by Nikolai Singhivsky. He dedicated it to his mother, whom he loved very much. These flowers are planted everywhere, maybe for what we would remember our mothers more often.
