This is a variation on the #ShirtOnSunday theme started by @hockney. I have already featured just about every t-shirt with a story I have. So here are some other items that bring back memories.
It seems these days that many people just want a selfie with famous people these days, but autographs can be nice to have too. These stretch over a large proportion of my life.
Plenty of memories on this wall. There is my little Steemfest shrine, but also:
- Portraits of me by @paolobeneforti and @yoganarchista.
- A Christmas card from the @coppercoins comic project signed by @kommienezuspadt and @ghostfish.
- An old guitar magazine page signed by Paul Gilbert when I met him at a clinic. He was my online guitar teacher when I used ArtistWorks.
- Signed cards by the bands Frost and The Fierce and the Dead (also got the artwark at the top from them that needs a frame). I have met both bands, but I got these cards when ordering their albums.
- A postcard from Bill and Ted actor Alex Winter. I contributed to his crowd-funded movie about Frank Zappa.
- An autograph by film critic Barry Norman. My parents met him at a radio station opening in 1981 and got this for me.
I have a selection of signed CDs too, but not by major artists. These are just some of them. Some are not too legible in the photo. The Lobelia and Skinny Jim were signed for me at gigs. The others are by Arcade Messiah and The Fierce and the Dead. I have several signed by the latter.
I bought this signed Steven Wilson album when I saw him play the Royal Albert Hall.
We have some signed books too. Terry Pratchett signed so many books on his various tours that it is said an unsigned one is more valuable. This was at a 1995 convention. The other is one of my first autographs. I was on a cub scout camp at a holiday camp in about 1977 and H.E. Todd was reading his stories there.
It seems he wrote a lot of Bobby Brewster before he died in 1988.
Of course I have to mention my ukulele that I got lots of people to sign at Steemfest 3 in Krakow. You may recognise a few names. There are lots more signatues on the sides and front. I do still play it.
So there are a few famous names there, but many of these are fairly niche. That is okay as they mean something to me.
Do you have anything to share in this vein? There are no rules or prizes, so do what you like.
