The ban concerns 48 employees of the Russian embassy and 12 from the United Nations in New York.

On March 26, the US announced a decision to expel 60 Russian diplomats from the country and close the consulate in Seattle. Also, Australia, Ukraine, Canada and more than a dozen EU countries announced the expulsion of diplomatic mission staff.
On March 29, the Russian authorities declared persona non grata 58 employees of the US Embassy in Moscow and two employees of the US Consulate General in Yekaterinburg. They must leave the country before April 5.
