It's a pretty good analysis of the elements that made the Hey Arnold! series so memorable in my opinion. I don't want to be too harsh toward the fandom of Disney's Recess, the other similar series that often gets compared to this one for who knows what reason, but I just don't see nearly the name level of depth in that series: it's just wacky entertaining playground politics. Not to say there's anything wrong with that; I just don't know why people like to put it in the same category with other animated series.
Here, you have a fleshing out of that notion that it's perfectly fine for children to feel melancholy, to have quiet contemplative moments in life. In a lot of other series targeted toward this demographic, there is often a lot more emphasis on having an outwardly action narrative with a protagonist that is on board with that actionyness. But this protagonist is far from stereotypically masculine, and the narrative delivers moral lessons involving imperfect endings without being too on the nose. There were also a lot of really good observations about how this all is enmeshed in the context of a multicultural urban setting and a jazzy backdrop
