Main media is leading us to believe that two sophisticated, highly-trained Russian GRU agents, Petrov and Boshirov (alias names equivalent to Jones and Smith in America), traveled from Russia to London intent only on killing the Scripals with a supposedly high grade military agent called Novichok which requires extremely sensitive handling.
In true James Bond fashion, in order to help carry out this important dirty deed, these two agents selected a distantly-located carpet-torn and moldy hotel which offered shared bathrooms and kitchens. Makes perfect spy sense to me: Who cares if someone's watchin' over your spywork--lol!
Indeed, The City Stay Hotel was a perfect place to safekeep a deadly nerve agent like Novichok! But this deadly nerve agent was so special it was contained in a perfume bottle, an item which any rugged male Russian spy could easily defend having on their possession if questioned by airport security.
Realistically, how many Russian spies do you think, when assigned to take down a high-value intelligence target like Skripal, would choose staying in a small, risky and low-budget hotel--lol?
