NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO) scientists used their computer models to generate a view of the Sun's magnetic field on August 10, 2018. The bright active region right at the central area of the Sun clearly shows a concentration of field lines, as well as the small active region at the Sun's right edge, but to a lesser extent. Magnetism drives the dynamic activity near the Sun's surface.
The white lines in the image above are actually powerful electromagnetic eruption in the sun's surface. The phenomenon was caused by the high energy interactions between hot charged particles. You can read the entire livescience article here for more details.
I was really fascinated by this photo as it really let us watch at least an image of the real activity in the sun's surface. Thanks to NASA for this, I hope that they could let us watch a live video of these eruptions anytime soon.
