WHAT IS WATER BAPTISM?
A. The word baptism comes from the Greek word baptizo which means: "TO SUCK, TO SUBMERGE, TO BLOW."
B. Water baptism is not wit of the human mind but of God. Jesus set an example by being baptized. (Matthew 3: 13-17)
C. Baptism is a step of obedience as a consequence of receiving Jesus, we are not baptized to be saved, but because we are already saved.
WHAT SYMBOLIZES BAPTISM IN WATER?
A. The value of baptism is not in the water but in the symbolism it represents:
- Death (Romans 6: 3, Galatians 2: 20)
- Burial. (Romans 6: 4, 2 Corinthians 5:17)
- Resurrection. (Romans 6: 4, Ephesians 2: 1)
B. This symbolism becomes real by believing in Jesus, without losing all its value.
SUMMARY:
The baptism has an incalculable value that when it is realized, it bases the life of the Christian. Everyone who has already come to Jesus must make the decision to be baptized. If you have not received Jesus, the first step is to receive Jesus.
