AMP:But whatever former things I had that might have been gains to me, I have come to consider as [one combined] loss for Christ’s sake.
8 AMP:Yes, furthermore, I count everything as loss compared to the possession of the priceless privilege (the overwhelming preciousness, the surpassing worth, and supreme advantage) of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord and of progressively becoming more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him [of perceiving and recognizing and understanding Him more fully and clearly]. For His sake I have lost everything and consider it all to be mere rubbish (refuse, dregs), in order that I may win (gain) Christ (the Anointed One),
9 AMP:And that I may [actually] be found and known as in Him, not having any [self-achieved] righteousness that can be called my own, based on my obedience to the Law’s demands (ritualistic uprightness and supposed right standing with God thus acquired), but possessing that [genuine righteousness] which comes through faith in Christ (the Anointed One), the [truly] right standing with God, which comes from God by [saving] faith (Philip. 3:7-9)
We are saying every word but it is not every word that matters, some do everything but it is not everything that matters, some people take every actions but it is not every action that matters.
There are certain things you have to let go or not say for the sake of acquiring what you want or to reach where you want to.
It is not the flesh that matters but what is inside of you, the outside look does not matter but what's matter is what that is inside of you and that's what God is interested with.
God is interested about our spiritual life.
Without priority and concentration ones cannot be focus. Absolute focus of Paul was willingness that's why he let go of everything for the sake of Christ. What is your focus? Are you willing to let go of nice things that does not matter for the sake of Christ?
You must make your focus your priority.
If you want to gain Christ you must let go of so many things that look nice but does not matter. There are certain things in your life you must let go to get to where you want to.
Abraham let go of so many things so that he can get to where he want to and also to gain Christ.
AMP:But Martha [overly occupied and too busy] was distracted with much serving; and she came up to Him and said, Lord, is it nothing to You that my sister has left me to serve alone? Tell her then to help me [to lend a hand and do her part along with me]! (Luke 10:30)
Do be like the young rich ruler that received to let go of nice things (his riches) which didn't matter.
You have to let go of nice things that does not matter for the sake of Christ.
God help us. Amen
