Hi there, we are Joanna and Andy, two free spirits with two dogs and a cat on a 50 years old catamaran that quit the rat race and went for an epic adventure. We are a german/swiss couple on a cruise to a much more intense life than 9 to 5.
But where do we come from and why do we do this?
After realising in 2011, that we weren't happy with what we were doing, following careers and paying bill after bill, that we did not even need or ask for, we decided to quit our jobs in Switzerland, sell all our belongings and go sailing. Andy got his offshore captain's license and Joanna's daughter took a gap year to join us in the begining, before finishing her studies. So we left in 2013 to buy our 1968 built catamaran, a 45ft PROUT "ocean ranger" and made it ready for our travels. We installed a water maker, added a cooler, life raft, wind generator and solar panels.
We sailed south through the Bahamas, discovered the Dominican Republic, helped out in Haiti for half a year after hurricane Matthew in 2016, circumnavigated Jamaica and continued to the bay islands of Honduras for the next hurricane season. After Irma and Maria hit Puerto Rico and Dominica, we decided to pick up relief supplies again in Florida to deliver them where necesarry. So we sailed north and stocked up in Marathon FL for the disaster areas. Having sailed half the L65 route and down through the Bahamas, we made our way south to support the storm ridden islands of Vieques - Puerto Rico and Dominica.
Once freed from the shackles of the control society, we have started also to withdraw our content from YouTube, Facebook, Google and the like to publish it in the new decentralized social media. We started our new blog on steemit and publish our videos additionally on D.tube. Follow along on this journey into the future.

For us, we live the dream, even though you have a nightmare once in a while. We left the rat race to travel and explore the world by sailboat, as sailboat fuel is available all over the planet ;-)
Here we are now, enjoying life, having fun crew with us once in a while, supporting disaster areas after hurricanes and being free of all the weight we carried on our shoulders back in the 9 to 5. No regrets and not one second thought about returning back to our old lives.
