In the journey of life, there is no one that can live in isolation no matter how intelligent or wealthy such person is. We set out every day and we meet different type of people on our journey. Some of these people turn out to be our friends that we just can’t do without hearing from them.
We also come across some people in our work-place that turn out to become one of our family due to the time we spent together even as a colleague.
In the process of meeting all these people, we established a relationship but we need to keep such relationships growing.
We need CARE and nourishment in order to keep it growing.
The Acronym of CARE can help us remember four key elements of relationships.
These are some of the strong principles that help to turn relationships around for good.
Challenge your friends to grow both physically and spiritually:
No matter how good someone is, there are still some areas of imperfection. It is your responsibility to work out those imperfections and know that your friends are not perfect by helping them to grow both physically and spiritually in order to create a legacy that will be remembered for even if there is a cut off at the long run.
Determine to turn any conversation towards matters of faith and growth.
Affirm your friend’s value:
It pains someone to be in a relationship where there is no drop of appreciation but rather rains of faults every time.
Affirm the value of those you are in a relationship with. A visit, a note, or phone call can let your friend/spouse know how important he or she is. Please do that daily and it will help to keep your relationships growing.
You have the capacity to surprise your family and friends today and give them what they never expected from you.
Respect the feelings and wishes of those around your life:
People love to see those who respect their feelings. You don’t have to always turn down your friends or family’s opinions or feelings thereby making them feel inferior that they don’t matter in that relationship. Always give a listening ear and give people self of belonging. Always put yourself in the shoes of others before you treat people the way you are treating them.
No one wants a friend with whom ideas, dreams, and concerns fall on deaf ears.
Always know that a good friend is a great asset.
Encourage those around your life:
There are people around you that need that word of encouragement or that act that will encourage them. Encourage those around you through compliments and by doing well.
A word of power and praise to people around you can go a long way in sustaining those around you.
let people around you feel better after being with you.
Do people leave you full or empty?
