Reddit, the discussion and popular news platform, recently made the decision to no longer endorse Bitcoin membership purchases for Reddit Gold, the premium ad-free version of the website. However, in an interview with Cheddar on Wednesday, Chris Slowe, Reddit CTO shares the firm’s plans to bring back digital currencies as a payment method, including Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin.
The reasoning following the March verdict to remove the bitcoin payment alternative stemmed from two main factors, as explained by Slowe in the dialogue, including issues associated to bitcoin’s transaction charges, as well as challenges with accessing Coinbase’s API. As per Slowe, both factors are now not an issue, and the company is energetically working with Coinbase to appropriately integrate the three mentioned cryptocurrencies.
