Rape culture

Rape culture is the damaging
belief that is attached to sexual
assault which is focused on
blaming the victim for their
victimization and allowing
perpetrators get away with
sexual crimes.
In the society, women need to
stop asking other women what
they were wearing when they
were raped. Not only is this
question highly insensitive, it is
very irrelevant as well. No one
deserves to be raped because of
what they were wearing.
Also, we women need to
understand that other women
do not deserve to be raped
because they were drunk, are
s-x workers, couldn’t say no, or
asleep or maybe they visited a
male in his house. Nothing
justifies rape.
And until the day women stop
supporting rape culture, victims
will not get justice and
perpetrators will keep getting
away with sexual crimes and the
thing is, they don’t stop.
Someday, it is your neighbor’s
daughter, one day it could be you
or someone very close to you.
If all women will lend a voice to
victims and stand by them
instead of moving with the toxic
views of the society, we will have
fewer rape cases as a lot of
people keep getting away with
sexual crimes because of our
nonchalance or judgments. No
one deserves to be raped and
definitely, no one deserves to be
blamed for it as well.
Take a step to end rape culture
now!
