THE SIMPLE PROVINCE LIFE

Last weekends we got the chance to visit my husband's hometown, Alcoy, Cebu, Philippines. Since the pandemic we never had the chance to go there because of the health protocols implemented by the government. Riding a bus for 3 hours is not that safe since we also have a 4 year-old kid and my husband has a health issue too. Good thing his brother, who is a policeman here in the city, called us and tell us if we would like to ride with him and go home to their place. Luckily too my husband was permitted by his boss to take a break even for just a day because they've been working everyday even in sundays for 3 months already.

So here we are experiencing the simple province life again. It really feels good to be back here, close to nature, peaceful surroundings and doing the simple province-like chores like cooking using firewood.

I was cooking here pork soup or "nilagang karne ng baboy" in Filipino (tagalog). It's not that difficult to prepare because me too in my home province in Leyte uses firewood aside from stove with LPG. But when you're in the city you can't use firewood, neighbors will surely complain about the smoke. Here in the province there are no complains since most household here uses it.

By the way cooking in firewood makes food tastes better than cooking in gas.
