It is time once again to refill the Value Plan budget and complete the year while planning ahead.
Value Plan is meant to be composed of regular update proposals that are both fluid and adjustable as required. Value Plan encourages everyone to participate in activities that interest them the most as it cannot exist without our Hive community. All promotional activities harness the power of the Hive community and are carried out organically.
Overview [R]
Your Value Plan keyholders as always are @theycallmedan, @smooth, @guiltyparties, @crimsonclad and @blocktrades. Project management is carried out by @crimsonclad and @guiltyparties.
The project scope includes promotional, marketing, impact and task-based activities that support Hive and its ecosystem as a whole. Activities may be major or minor. Project costs such as logistics and merchandise fit within the scope.
We take project management and quality control very seriously. All line items are continuously scrutinized and we employ a cyclical feedback model of communication.

Recent Events
This recap does not constitute the end of year review but is a general overview of a few of the most recent key events and activities.
Hive was the lanyard sponsor. All participants wore the Hive lanyard as a default.
The Caracas Blockchain Week conference may as well have been called the Hive Blockchain Week. We were the main sponsor with the widest range of branding, which was unexpected. Normally we'd see heavyweights like Binance come and try for the lead sponsor role but it appears that, due to our predominance perhaps, that did not happen and they have opted to stay away. This was both positive and negative. It was positive due to the fact that attention on Hive was generally uninterrupted. It was negative in that we could have had a greater reach if we co-sponsored.
This year's event was project managed by @yonnathang and took place at a university. It had a lot of student attention as a result of the location. This works well for Hive as one of our key promotional streams is education. If we look at our community values on Hive we know that promoting Web3 is of utmost importance. We likewise aim to show the strength and possibility of true decentralization and blockchain technology that is held in the hands of globally diverse stakeholders, not one single company as most. Highlighting Hive in an educational setting aligns perfectly with our values.
This is the first conference we've done where we were the largest sponsor and through it now we know what to expect. It was not an event without challenges and the formal event reviews are still forthcoming. The Hive team responsible for the event have done a great job.
The first ever Hive Blockchain Summit went extremely well and was followed by a short tour across Venezuela which is still ongoing. This event was organized by @SPKnetwork and @HiveCreators. It had everything including speeches and discussions and even a large live music session when it reached Cumana (our flagship area for HBD transactions). What does a summit look like exactly? It is a cross between a conference and a meetup. It is far smaller than a conference and has a narrower stream of speakers and topics but unlike a meetup, it is formal and organized with a distinct schedule. We are hoping to see more such events in the future world-wide.
Both CBW and the Hive Summit took the efforts of many, many people. Dozens of Hive community members diligently worked together to make them happen and contributed in different ways, from being speakers, to organizing small details, to sourcing merchandise, to finding locations, to driving, to doing interviews, to running the stand, and so on. These people all volunteered their time and we are grateful to them.
The Central European Rally went similarly well. The crowds and coverage were very large as always and the rally team had outdone itself. Driver Slaven (@ssekulji) and co-driver Damir made everyone proud. Community members @lordbutterfly and @bil.prag came out to support the team with the promotional portion and have done a great job.
No race is without its challenges and all vehicles do take a pounding on the track which is not meant to be easy. Our car is the entry level model unfortunately and if we really want to be competitive we need to upgrade it. This is not a clean and tidy sport but it's a sport with a known scope of audience, which is sizable enough to promote Hive on a massive scale but not so huge that Hive would be entirely lost among competitors.
While the Hive rally car cannot win the race simply due to its class (it is competing against $1 million cars), it is one of the most beautiful vehicles at the races and garners much attention from the crowd for that. It's design (created by @crimsonclad) clearly shows what Hive is all about. The goal of high-profile activities like the rally racing is to get Hive out there in front of people across the world and show that Hive is not some obscure hobbyist project, it is a large and growing ecosystem and one of the prime innovators in the Web3 space.
Rally racing is not the only type of race that Hive is involved in. We also have a motorcycle racing team called K13 (driver @king-13) out of Venezuela which will be underway to Colombia in a few days for two back-to-back races. We also have bicycle racing (@victorg30 won first place recently) and even running (Hive Run), with Hive athletes representing our ecosystem. The Hive brand must be made recognizable and known in the areas of the world where it is most prominent and we will continue working towards it as a community. All activities and races are conducted to the highest standard as always. It is important to encourage professional athletes on Hive to promote Hive in their sport worldwide and we are looking forward to seeing that stream of activity grow. Hive is a community blockchain and to promote it we must use the strength of our community.
Administrative Points
The ask at this time is 100,000 HBD which in itself includes the Monaco rally budget, which must be prepared immediately and made available well before the new year.
Further budgets in relation to 2024 activities will be presented at a later time.
Hive's Value Plan budgets are meant to be shared in smaller segments and filled as necessary; this is not a 'vote and forget' project. Please do stay engaged and involved.
Reporting
The annual report is scheduled to come out a month from now and is being compiled at the moment. Reporting is critical to pave the way for similar Web3 initiatives on and outside of Hive; when we document and share our lessons learned we set the cobble stones down for all others. Our path as Hive is revolutionary in every way.
In general, reporting recognizes that Hive is unique and thus embraces unique challenges in calculating success and projecting for future needs. Whereas last year's annual report was spread out over multiple units, this year's aims to be a single paper to make translation and reading easier for all.
Proposal
We are requesting 100,000 HBD for remainder of Q4 and prepayment for some Q1 2024 events which must be paid for with due urgency.
