Museum of the Oșenesc Village(Muzeul Satului Oșenesc) in Negrești-Oaș, Satu-Mare county(Romania)
Hello travelers from around the world
If the other day I shared with you here amazing places in the Maramures area in today's post I want to move a little bit in another amazing area of Romania, Tara Oașului, we will go together in the town of Negresti-Oaș, a small town, where we will visit the museum of the Oșenesc Village.
The Oșenesc Village Museum is an open-air museum, if you go through my older posts you will find other amazing museums that I have written some interesting things about.
Right from the entrance the visitor is transported into another world, even at the ticket office we find some very beautiful souvenirs, always when we buy these souvenirs made by locals we manage to support and encourage them to carry their tradition further.
This museum was opened in 1972 and occupies an area of almost one and a half hectares, the visiting hours are from Monday to Sunday between 09.00-17.00, the program may differ in the cold season and in winter it is visited only on request, and the price of an entrance ticket is 5lei/1euro/person.
The museum reproduces local life both through the traditional houses and through the objects we can see inside, and yes, here we can see how these traditional houses are decorated.
Inside the museum we could see different types of houses but also a church, all of them showing effectively the local life, in front of each house we can find information panels that help us to discover more easily what we see.
Let's take a few steps inside.
The open-air museum of Țării Oașului is a miniature reproduction of the Ossetian village of yesteryear, with original exhibits from the 17th century onwards, reminiscent of the pastoral tranquility of those times. From the moment you enter, you are mesmerized by the landscape that opens up at your feet in a superb natural amphitheatre. The wooden houses, built on massive stone foundations and covered with straw or shingle, the animal outbuildings, the smell of freshly mown hay, disconnect us from the hustle and bustle of the city and send us into a fairytale world.
Moreover, being in the oașului country, a water mill could not be missing from this museum.
We spent about two hours here but if you visit this museum and you are interested to find out more about it you can stay as long as you need.
THE END!
If you liked what you saw and read here please don't forget to give a LiKe, Follow, reBlog or a Comment, for all this I thank you, and until the next post I say goodbye.
P.S. The attached picture you have just seen are taken by me with my mobile phone(Samsung Galaxy S21), and the text is also designed by me.
