Introduction
Hello there! @saydie here, playing Splinterlands everyday!
This will be my second entry for this week's Battle Mage Secrets with the featured ruleset Lost Magic. This is a ruleset where monster units with Magic cannot be used in battle.
The Battle that I will show to you this time was from a tournament using @bltzr-wizard-726 which is the scholar account I'm playing from Balthazar Guild in partnership with Side Door Ventures and was currently playing on Diamond League of the Modern format.
But before I reveal my battle, let us learn more about this ruleset.
Lost Magic
Lost Magic | - Legendary Monsters may not be used in battles. - Focus on high speed and abilities like Flying, Dodge, Blind. Thorns, Return Fire and Shield are the key in this ruleset. |
Cards Based on Attack Types
Aside from the summoner, there were 4 types of monsters based on attack types namely, Non-damage (default) with no attack, melee, range and magic but because of the ruleset, magic monsters cannot be used. These were the samples of cards with different attack types and the cards that were crossed out are samples of Magic cards that were banned from this ruleset.

Opponent's Line- up
My Team
This battle comes with a 26 mana cap where the active rulesets are Aimless, Corrosive Fog and the featured ruleset for this week which was Lost Magic. With this in consideration, my lineup was consist of:
Summoner: Astral Entity - A Death Summoner that not only removes -2 armor on all opponent units but also gives ally units the Dodge ability which gives them 25% chance to evade melee and range attacks and can Resurrect one ally unit.
1st Position: Crypt Beetle - A 3- mana melee monster that has the Shield ability to reduce damage from melee and range attacks.
2nd Position: Corpse Fiend - A 0- mana monster which serves as a damage sponge in case of opportunity attacks or when my tank was defeated.
3rd Position: Ravenhood Warden - A 4- mana range monster with Protect to give +2 armor on all ally units and Inspire that increases melee damage by +1.
4th Position: Wierding Warrior - A 3- mana range unit with Shatter to remove the armor of the target while Amplify would increase damage inflicted by reflected attacks.
5th Position: Soul Strangler - A 3- mana range monster that does not have any abilities but can inflict 4 damage to its target.
6th Position: Xenith Archer - Another range unit with no ability and but just right for the remaining mana that I have left.

Battle Recap
Here is a replay of the battle which at you can watch at Splinterlands.
Did My Strategy Work?
When magic units cannot be used in battle, chances are that the opponent will use melee and range monsters which makes it easier for it to evade specially when we use abilities that will increase the chance for the opponent to miss their target and that is what I did by using a Summoner that gives the dodge ability which allows me to evade most of the attacks and win the match
That was it for this post. Thank you and see you at the next one.
