Today I want to share with you my experience visiting the convent dos capuchos located in Portugal. Also under a research on the internet and in the same visit I will share my knowledge of this ancient place.

El día de hoy quiero compartirles mi experiencia visitando el convento dos capuchos localizado en Portugal. También bajo una investigación en internet y en la misma visita compartiré mis conocimientos de este antiguo lugar.
- Where is this place located? Well you can visit this place in Portugal, specifically in Costa da Caparica, it is a highly touristic area because of its area near the coast full of different beaches that you can visit and swim in the seasons when the temperature rises. But Costa da Caparica is not only famous for its beaches, also near the coast you have a natural reserve in the small mountains where you can hike and in that area is located this convent at the top of the same providing a beautiful view of the coast.

- ¿Dónde se encuentra este lugar? Bueno puedes visitar este lugar en Portugal, específicamente en Costa da Caparica, es una zona altamente turística por su zona cerca de la costa llena de diferentes playas que puedes visitar y nadar en las épocas cuando sube la temperatura. Pero Costa de Caparica no solo es famoso por sus playas, también cerca de la costa tienes una reserva natural en las pequeñas montañas donde puedes realizar caminatas y en esa zona se encuentra este convento en la cima del mismo proporcionando una hermosa vista de la costa.
What is the convent dos Capuchos? It is an old convent built in 1558 with a Franciscan architectural style. It belonged to the order of San Francisco, where the religious exercised their religious vow in this building. This convent functioned from the year it was built until 1759 when the king of Portugal I ordered the execution of the religious after a conspiracy to assassinate the king. After that tragedy this place continued property of the religious until the year 1834 that was extinguished the religious orders in the country and this building became property of the successive ones. And finally in the year 1950 until today this building belongs to the chamber of Almada and made a total renovation of the place and is currently open to the public where you can visit for free.
Things to enjoy in the place. Not only the ancient architecture and detailed decorations you can enjoy in this place, also this convent contains a viewpoint where you can observe the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, next to the viewpoint you have a memorial monument of the famous poet Pablo Neruda quoting one of his poems ---> Suddenly the eyes are words. WHO WAS I? WHAT WAS I? WHAT ARE WE? THERE IS NO ANSWER. WE HAVE PASSED. WE WERE NOT. WE ARE. OTHER FEET, OTHER HANDS, OTHER EYES. BUT I LEARNED MUCH MORE FROM THE GREAT TIDE OF LIFE, FROM THE TENDERNESS SEEN IN THOUSANDS OF EYES THAT SAW ME AT THE SAME TIME.
Next to this beautiful poem we have the monument with the poet's face with a decoration in the form of eyes in the structure giving reference to the poem.

¿Qué es el convento dos capuchos? Se trata de un antiguo convento construido en el año 1558 con un estilo arquitectónico franciscano. Era de la orden de san francisco, donde se encontraban los religiosos ejerciendo su voto religioso en esta edificación. Este convento funcionó desde el año que se construyo hasta el año 1759 que el rey de Portugal I, ordeno ejecutar a los religiosos tras una conspiración de asesinar al rey. Luego de esa tragedia este lugar continuo propiedad de los religiosos hasta el año 1834 que fue extinguido las órdenes religiosas en el país y paso a ser propiedad de los sucesivos esta edificación. Y por último en el año 1950 hasta la actualidad esta edificación le pertenece a la cámara de Almada y realizo una renovación total del lugar y actualmente se encuentra abierta al público donde puedes visitar de forma gratuita.
Cosas para disfrutar en el lugar. No solo la antigua arquitectura y decoraciones detalladas puedes disfrutar en este lugar, también este convento contiene un mirador donde puedes observar la costa del océano Atlántico, junto al mirador tienes un monumento memorial del famoso poeta pablo Neruda citando una de sus poesías ---> De repente los ojos son palabras. ¿QUIÉN ERA? ¿QUÉ ERA YO? ¿QUÉ SOMOS? NO HAY RESPUESTA. HEMOS PASADO. NO ESTÁBAMOS. SOMOS. OTROS PIES, OTRAS MANOS, OTROS OJOS. PERO APRENDÍ MUCHO MÁS DE LA GRAN MAREA DE LA VIDA, DE LA TERNURA VISTA EN MILES DE OJOS QUE ME VIERON AL MISMO TIEMPO.
Junto a este hermoso poema tenemos el monumento con la cara del poeta con una decoración en forma de ojos en la estructura dando referencia al poema.
- Also this place allows a space to share with nature, as it is surrounded by the nature of the Caparica coast, it also has a picnic area where you can eat with family and friends after a long walk to this place.

- Un momento en la naturaleza. También este lugar permite un espacio para compartir con la naturaleza, ya que está rodeado en la naturaleza de la costa de Caparica también tiene una zona de pícnic donde puedes comer en familia y amigos luego de una larga caminata hasta este lugar.
I enjoyed the visit in this place, it was a long walk, since I had to walk for about 5 km to reach this destination. I recommend visiting by its surroundings because after touring the convent you have several options waiting for you to do, such as hiking in the reserve, the beaches, observatories to enjoy the beautiful views of Almada along with the Atlantic Ocean. Another point in its favor is that it is well cared for by the municipal chamber despite being a free place also inside the convent have the history of what was this building, but unfortunately you can not take pictures, if you are not in the specific schedule, which is open to the public.

He disfrutado la visita en este lugar, fue una larga caminata, ya que tuve que caminar por alrededor de 5 km para llegar a este destino. Recomiendo visitar por sus alrededores porque luego de recorrer el convento tienes varias opciones a tu espera por hacer, como caminatas en la reserva, las playas, observatorios para disfrutar las hermosas vistas de Almada junto con el océano Atlántico. Otro punto a su favor es que está bien cuidado por la cámara municipal a pesar de ser un lugar gratuito también dentro del convento tienen la historia de lo que era esta edificación, pero lastimosamente no puedes tomar fotografías, si no estás en el horario específico, que se encuentra abierto para el público.
