Há 10 anos ocorreu pela primeira vez o evento da “Procissão das Criaturas” aqui na cidade de Santa Cruz do Sul/ RS - Brasil.

Como o povo não estava acostumado com eventos desse tipo, acabou que a primeira edição contou com somente cerca de 400 pessoas fantasiadas que caminharam na rua central da cidade (Rua Marechal Floriano) seguindo um carro que fez a sonorização.
Nos primeiros anos confesso que não fui ao evento, mas pelo que me recordo, não fiquei sabendo dele na época.
O evento foi ganhando força com a divulgação e participação de todos - tanto no próprio desfile quanto assistindo das calçadas – que no ano passado, conforme levantamento da prefeitura, o desfile reuniu pelo menos 50 mil pessoas no centro da cidade e gerou receita superior a R$ 1 milhão em gastronomia.
*Atualmente é um dos eventos mais esperados do ano, principalmente pelo público geek e já tem data para acontecer.
Será realizado no dia 23 de novembro com início às 18 horas (at 6p.m) na praça Getúlio Vargas (aqui chamamos de praça do chafariz), como já ocorre de costume.*

Já assisto a esse desfile há alguns anos, e nos últimos dois, participei dele também, junto com a filha e meu marido.
Apesar das fantasias muito bem produzidas e dos monstros assustadores, a filha sabe que não é de verdade e não tem medo das “criaturas”.
Este ano a ideia é ir participar também e espero que dê tudo certo!

10 years ago the “Procession of Creatures” event took place for the first time here in the city of Santa Cruz do Sul/RS - Brazil.
As people were not used to events of this type, the first edition ended up with only around 400 people in costume who walked along the city's central street (Rua Marechal Floriano) following a car that provided the sound system. In the first few years, I confess that I didn't go to the event, but from what I remember, I didn't know about it at the time.
The event gained strength with the publicity and participation of everyone - both in the parade itself and watching from the sidewalks - that last year, according to a city hall survey, the parade brought together at least 50 thousand people in the city center and generated revenue in excess of R $1 million (in R$ - brazilian reais) in gastronomy.
It is currently one of the most anticipated events of the year, especially among the geek public and it already has a date to take place. It will be held on November 23rd starting at 6pm (at 6pm) at Getúlio Vargas Square (here we call it Praça do Fountain), as usual.
I've been watching this parade for a few years now, and in the last two, I've participated in it too, along with my daughter and my husband. Despite the very well produced costumes and scary monsters, the daughter knows that it is not real and is not afraid of the “creatures”.
This year the idea is to participate too and I hope everything goes well!
