Across Warm Tumbled Shore Seabirds Glide

Seabirds Featured Cape Gull & Common Tern

Down to the beach we go with todays bird photography with @keithboone and Feathered Friday sharing sea birds, the only birds on the beach today after the storms experienced a couple of weeks ago.

Kelp Gull or Cape Gull a common resident along our shoreline, younger birds are mottled dark brown, adults with distinguished black and white feathers, a yellow bill with red signature mark at the tip. In general gulls are flexible diners, eating a wide variety of whatever is available.

First up testing manual photography shooting, gulls framed behind a tree washed down in the storms, debris on the shore is plentiful, sadly too much plastic trash, everyone is doing their bit by taking a bag down to collect as much as possible as they go out walking.

Flexing my wings for take off, down the river to the sea...

Up and off in no time at all, amazing how one push out of the water to become airborne, jealously we watch on.

Gracefully going past another more adult bird follows, must be something on the wind.

Common tern

Not to be outdone the Common tern takes to the air, may be smaller, definitely built for speed. This may be a Caspian tern not being able to get close enough to identify.

Togetherness on the beach, chilling out on the otherside of the river mouth, unable to cross with the river still riding high, deep with too much debris to take a risk, perhaps next time!

Thanks to @keithboone accepting #featheredfriday sharing bird photography and great tips to amateur photographers.
