Reflections on Social Farming in Crypto: Lessons Learned and Moving On

Source

Good day, everyone, and welcome to my blog. It has been a long ride farming different airdrops and hopping to make some decent money along the way and I can say this it has not been an easy journey but like I said in one of my posts a month ago patience is key if anyone wants to achieve something massive in the crypto space. In my journey, I have witnessed some good projects and also at the same time witnessed some projects that turned out to be a waste of time, but all the same, we win some and lose some that is just the way it works.

It has come to my notice that some of the social farming projects that I have taken part in are out to just fill their pockets and are not interested in building a long-lasting project for the long run. There is this project I joined a couple of months ago to participate in their mobile game and social farming. It looked legit at the beginning because they got Samsung to be their partners, and I was certain the project was going to be a huge hit once they launched.

It all started to go downhill when they decided to focus on users who bought their NFTs and ignored the game players plus their social farmers. It got most of the users who farmed their project angry and started calling it a scam. The project's official Twitter account decided to post an update about social farmers and game players two weeks later after their launch. I have noticed before that some projects that don't offer much decide to launch on the Ethereum blockchain which means to claim the token the user has to pay a huge gas fee and it does not make any sense to claim a 5 dollar worth token with 10- 15 dollar worth of Ethereum.

It is more reason why I don't like participating in any project that relates to Ethereum because in the end if you don't pay the huge gas fee then your token will remain on the project base and once they spot the token has not been claimed they will reclaim their token. It happened in this particular project I participated in, and I have decided it is not worth my time anymore. I have deleted the game from my device and unfollowed their account on Twitter.

Transparency is key to seeing any project succeed. It is better to make it clear from the starting point on the road that the project is backing on and not lead people astray when they won't get anything significant at the end. Social farming has become a thing of the past for me and there is no way I will be participating in any social farming project anytime soon. The year is still halfway through, and who knows something huge could happen with some of the projects I am farming before the year runs out. So, guys, that will be all for now. Thanks for stopping by, and have a good day.
