I found comfort in simplicity.

Yes of course! There is elegance in simplicity.

This mantra resonates deeply with me as I have always believed in feeling comfortable in whatever I choose to adorn myself with, whether it be makeup, clothing, accessories, or even hairstyles.

I vividly recall a memorable experience as part of a bridal train where the norm was heavy makeup. I am not one for such elaborate beauty routines, I opted for a simple look with just brown powder and lip gloss. While some perceived it as too plain and understated, I stayed true to my preference. Yet, I eventually succumbed to peer pressure and donned a heavier look for the sake of conformity. Although it looked good in photos, it wasn't me, and I quickly reverted to my comfortable state soon after.

Lo and behold that was where my hubby found me🫣

For me, simplicity in dressing is not just a style choice but a source of joy and contentment. I derive pleasure from seeking out quality yet affordable materials, choosing elegant designs with minimal embellishments, and opting for fabrics that are gentle on the skin.

As a new mother, comfort takes precedence in my sartorial decisions. Balancing my own ease with that of my child, my style evolves organically to prioritize only what truly matters. I gravitate towards dresses that strike the perfect balance between simplicity and sophistication.

Thrift shopping is a treasure trove for me when it comes to building my wardrobe. Not only is it cost-effective and offers superior fabric quality, but it also allows me to embrace individuality by steering clear of mainstream trends.

I know I have mentioned comfort so many times in this post, yes! That's because simplicity in fashion pulls in comfort for me. I look for comfort in whatever style I choose to rock.

My fashion philosophy can be distilled into a trio of essential elements: comfort, style, and affordability. By placing these pillars at the core of my fashion choices, I not only express my personal style but also find joy and satisfaction in the process. After all, in a world that often prioritizes extravagance, there is a quiet elegance in simplicity.

Growing up, I was always surrounded by the influence of minimalist fashion choices in a way, thanks to my parents. My mother, in particular, had a knack for simplicity that extended to every aspect of our wardrobe. Each December, like clockwork, she would purchase a new pair of shoes and Christmas outfits for us. However, her approach was distinct - opting for slightly oversized shoes to accommodate growth throughout the year. To make them fit, she ingeniously added layers of tissues for that perfect fit.

Her color palette was equally minimalist, leaning towards versatile shades like black, silver, gold, and brown. This had a practical advantage as the colors seamlessly complemented a wide range of outfits, eliminating the need for specific shoe-to-outfit coordination.

This upbringing instilled in me the value of simplicity and practicality in fashion choices. It's amazing how these seemingly small decisions have shaped not only my style but also my perspective on making intentional and functional choices in all aspects of life.
