How my friend influenced me into Tech.

One thing in life people don’t really appreciate much is having a good friend. A friend who can tell you the truth even when it hurts, a friend who is always there for you both in good and hard times. I’m always surprised at how people are always full about not having friends or cutting all their friends off like it’s a good thing. If three people say the same thing about you in different places, then that’s who you really are. I’m really grateful I came in contact with a beautiful soul named “Oche.”

Oche is a friend who always shares his ideas and any given opportunity with me. We were good friends and masters in our area of discipline until one day he came to me and told me about a sponsored course he heard about. “What course is that?” I asked, and he then told me about the product design management course (UI/UX). I wasn’t interested at first because I had so much to do already and the class holds every Saturday.

Saturdays are my resting days. He kept talking about it, so I decided to follow him to class one day. I sat beside him, started enjoying the class, and was able to answer some questions asked by the instructor. Since I had a vast knowledge of technology and graphic design, I started to have an interest in them, and that was how I registered. I have never regretted knowing Oche one day. There were days we had night class just to catch up with some assignments given to us.

He was the tallest of all of his friends; sometimes I wish the NBA could find him and give him a start.

As time went on, I also became friends with other tech brothers and sisters, and in three months, we finished the first session of our learning. We were given a project to work on, and we did very well. With different projects and products, it was a great time to remember. We graduated with other students who registered for the course, and we got to meet some important figures in our country, like the lady who sponsored the programme, “Dr. Oby Ezekwesili.”

After graduating, we decided to work on a bank project together, and it came out well. It wasn’t our best since it’s just the start of the knowledge we have acquired.

Currently, Oche and I are in different cities, thousands of kilometres apart from each other. It’s painful for me to change cities with my very good friend, but I know that we will meet again. Writing this blog just made me realise how much I have missed him. Yes, I do miss him, and I hope one day we can sit together and reminisce about how great our friendship was.

One thing people love about us is that anywhere you see Oche, I’m not too far from him, and vice versa.

Thanks for being a good influence on me and a great friend.
