Lindernia crustacea

This weed somehow has some beautiful flowers, although for a good lawn, they unfortunately have to be removed, otherwise, we will have some patches with purple color flowers on the green lawn.

The other thing is that like most weeds, they can grow faster than the grass in the lawn, and thus the gardener in the villa has to work hard to remove them from the lawn.

This is the Lindernia crustacea, a species of flowering plant known by the common name Malaysian false pimpernel. It is a member of the "new" plant family Linderniaceae. The flower is very small, approximately 1 cm in size. Pollens are round, with 23.5 microns diameter.

I think I have made another post about this plant in the past, what makes this flower interesting, is that the top petal of this flower, never opens widely life the other petal, kind of like closing down to the other petal, maybe trying to cover the pollen inside, or maybe there is a different reason for this action.

The wilted one, maybe ready to bring a new life with the seed to be blown away by the wind , or the animal.
