My dealer finally got these vintage rounds in, so of course I snagged one as soon as they dropped. They're in great condition considering the company that made them went bankrupt in 2016.
Obverse
The obverse features a couple of men driving a stagecoach. Above them are the words "Stagecoach Silver" and below it is the phrase "For When You Have To Get Out of Dodge." It's a cleverly designed round. Stackers buy gold and silver to preserve wealth, and that's certainly something we'd all be grabbing if we had to leave in a hurry.
Reverse
The back is even more interesting. The mint who made this, designed it to be divisible into four quarter ounce pieces. What they don't tell you is it's not exactly going to be easy, even with tools.
I've seen pictures of broken tin snips that didn't make a dent in this. You're likely best off trying to put this in a vice and bending it with some pliers, using the lines as guides. Cutting through it is likely not going to work, unless you happen to have a Dremel handy.
Specifications
Purity: .999
Weight: 1 Troy ounce
The Northwest Territorial Mint created these, and it's a very clever design. Sadly, the company went bankrupt due to massive fraud committed by the two partners who ran the business. (Source)
I paid $31.95 for this, which is higher than regular bullion. Then again, these aren't being made anymore and have a great novelty aspect to them, due to the divisibility. Other online stores are asking closer to $40, so I think I got a pretty good deal on it.
