Liv Morgan spent most of 2023 out of the ring due to a serious shoulder injury. Luckily, Liv recovered and returned to the Royal Rumble, and now appears to be fully recovered from her illness. In a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Liv Morgan confirmed that she underwent surgery after discovering tears in her pectoral muscles, biceps and rotator cuff. The boxer shared some details about the surgery and recovery process, saying he wouldn't have noticed the tears if he hadn't had surgery.

"I had a very serious injury that we haven't revealed all the details about... Basically, I dislocated my shoulder. Yes, in a fight with Ripley. I dislocated my shoulder and went to get an MRI. The MRI showed a tear I don't know if you know anything about MRIs, but they are only 60% accurate. I didn't know, so they told me: "Hey, we recommend that you have surgery for the dislocation.

"When my surgeon opened up my shoulder, he said, 'Well, biceps tear, rotator cuff tear, labral tear,' so I have all these additional tears and tears in my shoulder that we wouldn't have known about if I hadn't had surgery, "So if I had gone for rehab, I wouldn't have healed well and we wouldn't have known why, so I had surgery."

Additionally, Morgan said of his current health, "I'm still recovering, but I see continued improvement."

"Now I'm pain-free, full rotation, full mobility. I'm working to regain all my strength. My right is much stronger than my left right now, but I feel great. It moves very well. Yes, I'm happy. I had a lot of , very, very lucky because the shoulders are a little iffy. I've asked a lot of people and some people, with shoulder surgery, said like, it feels worse than it did before, so I'm very lucky that mine is. 100% normal."
